A rescuer
I hope I can call myself as one. But one day I will be qualified to be called as one, Insyallah
To my non animal lover friends.. please please read.
Please look at those innocent eyes.. either strays or ones in animal shelters
Please give a chance to these innocent souls to be adopted
To be loved
written by anonymous rescuer
This is the best way to explain what we do everyday, what we see and what we feel while doing it. For animal lovers like me, animal rescue is the most incredible, rewarding job... in the history of ever.
At the same time... it's also the most heartbreaking...
The truth is...
You see a lot of things... you never thought you'd see.
You witness a level of cruelty... you didn't think was possible.
You feel a degree of helplessness... you never thought you'd know.
You stare at painful images...
soon burned into your memory... that will haunt your thoughts forever.
You try to pick up the pieces...
so many pieces... of the damage you didn't do.
You do everything in your power...
but even still... you'll never reach them all.
You'll try to stay strong... but you'll mostly feel weak.
You'll build walls to protect your heart... but they'll never keep you safe.
You'll place barriers around your soul... but the pain will always reach you.
And no matter how hard you try to fight it...
over time... here's the truth about what happens in animal rescue...
The neglect changes you.
The abuse hardens you.
The suffering breaks you.
The ignorance angers you.
The indifference disturbs you.
The injustice destroys you.
On a daily basis... your faith will be tested.
Your heart will be wounded.
Your soul will be altered.
On a weekly basis...
you'll question yourself.
You'll question your strength.
You'll question the world.
On a monthly basis...
you'll fall down.
You'll get up.
You'll go on...
On a yearly basis...
you'll look back...
You'll see faces...
You couldn't save them.
You'll learn to mourn.
To grieve.
To sob.
You'll learn to trust a little less.
To do a little more.
To fight a little harder.
You'll learn to try.
To hope.
To pray.
You'll learn to fail.
To succeed.
To accept.
You'll learn when to hold on.
When to give up.
When to let go.
You'll learn who you are.
What you stand for.
Why that matters.
Then... at times... you'll forget why you matter.
You'll question what you're doing.
You'll wonder if it's worth it.
But... here's the good news...
When you forget...
When you question...
When you wonder...
All you have to do...
Is take a look around...
And you'll see them.
You'll see their faces.
You'll see their smiles.
You'll feel their love.
In their eyes, you'll see their journeys...
You'll remember their beginnings...
You'll know how far they've come...
You'll remember when they didn't know you...
When they didn't trust you...
When they'd given up.
You'll remember how you healed them...
How you loved them...
How they loved you, too.
And as you look back...
You'll want to move forward...
For them... and because of them.
In your darkest hours, you'll look around...
To find the differences made... the hope given... and the lives saved...
Because you existed.
In those moments, when you look into their eyes... every doubt will be erased.
Every question will be answered.
Every worry will subside.
Because in that instant... in each of your hearts...
You both share the very same thought:
"Every bit of pain was worth it... for this moment here with you."
And honestly... no matter what else happens...
Those moments hold all the strength you need...
To keep going.
Rescue is pain.
Rescue is joy.
Rescue is worth it... because they are worth it.
And that's the honest truth."

Special poem by John Harrington
Up I went to leave my home
Away I went....away I roamed
I had no choice you see
life had turned to misery
Played in my youth, i grew too fast
The love I knew, it didn't last
And now I hurt outside and in
Eat my food from a garbage bin
If I'm lucky that is
Im slowly dying and feel my age....
The busy street is now my cage
What I'd trade to find a lap
A place of mercy and not a trap
A lap of comfort wide
A place to love
And not to hide
A human lap is my dream
A bowl of food, a little cream
If God made me a wish
It would be a home , A plate of fish
To sleep in comfort...upon a throne
Like the ones who have a home
Curled up close and tucked in tight
A gentle hand I'd so delight
Even as a backyard stray,
oh what I'd give for a bed of hay
A Christmas gift for me tonight
would be a home in broad daylight
For all the strays without a home
I pray they find what some have known
Where peace and love is all about
One that comes and brings no doubt
Souls of kind and gentle hearted
I'd live my life the way it started.
I'd sit and purr and find some peace...
Where pain would stop and hate would cease
Christmas comes but once a year
and brings some luck,
brings some cheer
for those like me alone at night.....
please forgive us for our fright
On Christmas Day beneath the tree.
Is where I long to someday be.

You Raise Me Up
You Raise Me Up
When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.
There is no life - no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

A Street Cat Named Bob
They're so special to all cat lovers. Bagi saya ada 1 perkataan yang tepat untuk describe tentang Bob & James; Hope.
Bagi yang belum membaca, ini bukunya. Boleh di dapati di kinokuniya. The best book yang saya baca di 2012.
So, pabila saya membuat plan ke London, mencari mereka adaah salah satu iternary saya.

MATA KECILKU by Afdlin Shauki
MATA KECILKU
Nukilan : Ammu Afdlin Shauki aka Abu Miasara
Kau buat mataku kecil
Kau buat badanku besar
Kau sayangkan aku
Kau buatku serba kekurangan
Supaya aku berusaha mencari kejayaan
Kemudian kau limpahkan dgn kesenangan
Kau sayangkan aku
Aku leka dengan hidup dunia
Tiada syukur tersemat didada
Hari hari bergelumang dosa
perhubungan kita tidak ku jaga
seperti seorang anak tak mengenang jasa
Kau sayangkan aku
Aku yg sudah hanyut jiwaku
Rasa tak layak lagi bersamaMu
Sangkaku tertutup sudah pintu kemaafanMu
kerana ke-alpaan diriku
Kerana kebodohan diriku
kerana keangkuhan diriku
Kerana ku butakan mata kecilku
"Masihkah Kau sayangkan Aku?"
f16 Israel membedil Gaza
Kau sayangkan aku
Bom Bom Israel mencari Syuhada
Kesengsaraan di tanah Gaza
Kehancuran merata- rata
Kezaliman yg tak terkata
Kau sayangkan aku
Kemanusiaan membawaku ke sana
Kau permudahkan segala cara
Walaupun debar menggoncang dada
Kau beri ku kekuatan minda
Selamat perjalananku ke Gaza
Agar akhirnya dapat ku guna
Mata yang lama tak bercahaya
Kerana hanya mengejar dunia
Kau Sayangkan aku
Mataku melihat, runtun hatiku
bukan kerana kematian dan kesusahan di situ
Gaza tanah barakahMU
walaupun semuanya kelabu
Dipenuhi oleh kekasih-kekasihMU
Yang tidak pernah menyoal cintaMU
Yang tak pernah menyalahkanMU
Walaupun apa saja kesusahan yang kau beri
Kesyukuran tak pernah meninggalkan hati
Semua kekasih kekasihMU itu merindui
Bersamamu di Jannah nanti
Air mata berlinangan dari mata kecilku
Melihat Ketenangan wajah kekasihMU
Melihat Keberanian jiwa kekasihMU
Melihat keredhaan hati kekasihMU
Melihat ketaqwaan hidup kekasihMU
Senyum kekasihMU penuh cahaya
Senyun terukir walaupun duka
Senyum di beri tak memilih siapa
Senyum penuh kesyukuran padaNYA
AKu terduduk, terdiam melihatnya
Mata aku berkelip tidak percaya,
tidak pernah aku melihat sepertinya
Adakah aku dibumi nyata
ataupun menghampiri ahli-ahli syurga
Palestin bergolak atas keizinanMu
Kau mahu Palestin menjadi guru
Pelajaran bagi semua umat MU
Menyuluh jalan pulang padaMU
Aku meminta pengampunan dariMu Ya Allah
Kerana setelah semua yg aku laku
kau masih sudi membuka mataku
kau masih sudi mahu bersama ku
Kau masih sudi sayangkan aku
Kau sayangkan aku
kekuatan Mu, Ke BijaksanaanMu, PengampunanMU
Cinta Mu yang memang tidak ada seteru.
Semua yang ku lakukan kini kerana Mu
UntukMu inginku menjadi Qalam
Akan aku ceritakan kebesaranmu kepada sekian Alam
Akan ku sampaikan kasih mu yg sangat mendalam
Ya aku, Budak gemuk yg 120kg ni... ISLAM.
Allahu akbar!

The Road Not Taken
Poem yang menjadi kegemaran saya buat masa ni
THE ROAD NOT TAKEN by Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both,
And be one traveller, long I stood,
And looked down one as far as I could,
To where it bend in the undergrowth,
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passsing there,
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay,
In leaves no step had trodden black,
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads onto way,
I doubted if I should ever come back,
I shall be telling this with a sigh,
Somewhere ages and ages hence;
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference
